El-obeid: A high-level delegation from the Federal Ministry of Health, led by Minister Prof. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, inspected the unified displacement camp at the El-Obeid land port on Friday as part of an official visit to North Kordofan. The mission aimed to evaluate living conditions and identify urgent humanitarian gaps.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Ali Babikir, highlighted that around 4,000 families at the site require immediate assistance in health, education, food security, and shelter. He noted a ‘significant influx’ of newly displaced households absorbed by host communities across the state.
Dr. Babikir urged international agencies to boost their humanitarian footprint, while praising state authorities for supporting civilians displaced by the crimes of the terrorist Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia. He reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to maintaining essential health services inside the camp and stabilizing the public-health situation.
Dr. Babikir also voiced hope for a swift and decisive victory by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and allied forces over rebel militias in Darfur and parts of Kordofan.
