Kinshasa: President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), F©lix Antoine Tshisekedi, on Saturday welcomed Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Assistant to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lt. Gen. (Eng.) Ibrahim Jabir, during the Ninth Great Lakes Region Summit in Kinshasa.
According to Sudan News Agency, Lt. Gen. Jabir brought greetings from the TSC President and the Sudanese government, expressing Sudan’s gratitude for the DRC’s supportive stance on efforts to achieve peace in Sudan. He emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral relations for the mutual benefit of both nations.
Lt. Gen. Jabir reassured the Congolese President of Sudan’s dedication to resolving the ongoing rebellion, which has exacerbated the challenges faced by Sudanese citizens and worsened the humanitarian crisis. He highlighted Sudan’s commitment to collaborating with African allies and the Great Lakes Region to promote African integration, peace, and development across the continent.
