Director General of Police Forces Stresses the Need to Develop Thorough Security Plans to Confront Current Challenges

Atbara: The Director General of Police Forces, General (Police) Khalid Hassan Mohi-Eddin, has stressed the need to develop robust security plans that include integrated scenarios to confront current security challenges, with the participation of all police units and components of the Ministry of Interior.

According to Sudan News Agency, this statement was made during his address to a meeting of the River Nile State Police Command, held at the Police Officers’ House in Atbara. The meeting was attended by the Director of the General Traffic Directorate, Maj. Gen. (Police) Dr. Sirajuddin Mansour Khalid, and the Director of the River Nile State Police, Maj. Gen. (Police) Salman Mohammed Al-Tayib.

General Hassan praised the ongoing efforts of the River Nile State Police in managing the influx of newcomers from war-affected states, describing their performance as distinguished and professional. He announced plans to support them by providing vehicles and work supplies soon.

Maj. Gen. (Police) Dr. Sirajuddin Mansour Khalid emphasized the unique character of the people of River Nile State, which imparts a special social and human dimension to police work in the area.

Additionally, the Director of the River Nile State Police presented a comprehensive criminal and security report, highlighting the success of precautionary security plans. These efforts led to the seizure of over half a ton of gold in the first half of the year and the recovery of significant quantities of goods and stolen items.

He also reported the dismantling of criminal networks involved in smuggling antiquities, weapons, and currency counterfeiting. Authorities arrested foreigners operating under the guise and sponsorship of terrorist militias, along with several sleeper cells and collaborators with these militias.

Maj. Salman Mohammed Al-Tayib noted that intensive preemptive campaigns and the continuous deployment of patrols played a crucial role in these achievements.

During his visit to the River Nile State, the Director General of Police Forces inaugurated the Maj. Gen. (Police) Salman Mohammed Al-Tayib Emergency and Trauma Complex at the Atbara Police Hospital. He also laid the foundation stone for the General (Police) Khalid Hassan Mohi-Eddin CT and MRI Center, reflecting the ongoing efforts of the police leadership to enhance medical treatment facilities.
