Decision to Form National Committee for Investigating US Chemical Weapons Allegations in Sudan

Khartoum: President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) has announced the formation of a national committee to investigate allegations made by the United States regarding the Sudanese army’s purported use of chemical weapons during the War of Dignity.

According to Sudan News Agency, this decision aligns with Sudan’s commitment to international obligations, particularly the Chemical Weapons Convention. The Government of Sudan, emphasizing its dedication to transparency and its skepticism about the accuracy of the US administration’s accusations, has tasked this newly formed national committee with the investigation. The committee comprises representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, and the General Intelligence Service.
