Khartoum: The governor of Blue Nile State is actively overseeing efforts to ensure a successful harvest season in the region. Lieutenant General Ahmed Al-Umda Badi, who is also the Chairman of the Higher Committee for the Success of the Agricultural Season, recently reviewed ongoing efforts for the harvest and the preparations for installing and equipping new cotton gins in the area.
According to Sudan News Agency, this review occurred during a meeting in his office with Dr. Abu Bakr Al-Tahir Abdullah, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, and Engineer Muhammad Adlan, Director General of Al-Joud Company. The meeting was also attended by Maulana Abbas Abdullah Kara, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning. The Minister of Agriculture and Forestry noted that discussions included the completion of new cotton gins by Al-Joud Company and the associated economic and social benefits. Additionally, they discussed agricultural financing necessary for expanding cotton cultivation.
The meeting emphasized efforts to provide the workforce required for a successful harvest and explored further development of the cotton industry, highlighting the region's leading position in cotton production. The Minister of Agriculture and Forestry also praised Al-Joud Company's initiative for implementing the workers' food and Ramadan food basket project, while the governor pledged his support for the installation of the new cotton gins and efforts to secure the workforce needed for the harvest.
