Kigali: Ambassador Khalid Musa presented his credentials to Rwandan President Paul Kagame on Wednesday, marking his official appointment as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Sudan to Rwanda. The ceremony highlighted the strengthening diplomatic ties between the two nations.
According to Sudan News Agency, Ambassador Musa conveyed greetings from the President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, to President Kagame. Musa took the opportunity to discuss the current developments in Sudan, focusing on the army’s victories on various battlefronts, the complete liberation of Khartoum State, and the armed forces’ ongoing commitment to liberating the entire national territory and confronting external aggression.
Ambassador Musa also briefed President Kagame on a significant political decision made by the Transitional Sovereignty Council President to appoint Dr. Kamil Idris as Prime Minister. This appointment aims to steer the executive organ through a civilian technocratic government, aligning with the goals of the transitional period. Additionally, Musa elaborated on the recently announced roadmap by the Sudanese government to achieve peace in the country.
President Kagame expressed his full support for Sudan’s efforts to attain security and peace. He affirmed Rwanda’s readiness to provide necessary support and assistance to help Sudan achieve these goals. President Kagame also praised the evolving bilateral relations between Rwanda and Sudan. He expressed concern for the Sudanese community in Rwanda and welcomed Sudanese students enrolled in Rwandan universities, wishing them success in a safe and stable environment.
