London: Ambassador Babiker Al-Siddiq Mohammed Al-Amin, Head of Mission at the Sudanese Embassy in London and Permanent Representative of Sudan to the International Maritime Organization, delivered Sudan’s address to the 34th session of the organization’s General Assembly in London. The ambassador emphasized the Sudanese government’s commitment to ensuring the safety, stability, and efficient operation of the country’s ports to benefit both the Sudanese people and neighboring nations. He highlighted the resumption of oil exports from the Republic of South Sudan through Sudanese ports as a key achievement.
According to Sudan News Agency, Ambassador Al-Siddiq asserted Sudan’s sovereignty over its extensive Red Sea coastline and territorial waters, despite ongoing conflict. He underscored Sudan’s role in securing navigation in the Red Sea, a crucial international trade route. The ambassador also addressed a terrorist attack on Port Sudan in May, attributing it to a regional sponsor of a terrorist militia, alluding to the Abu Dhabi regime. He urged the Assembly to condemn this attack and other crimes perpetrated by the militia and its sponsors against the Sudanese people.
