Al-gadarif: Acting Minister of Health and Director-General of the Al-Gadarif State Ministry of Health, Dr. Ahmed Al-Amin Adam, visited Al-Shawak Rural Hospital in Al-Fashaga Locality on Thursday, accompanied by a delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). The delegation was led by Health Coordinator Dr. Nancy and included Professor Dafalla Alam Alhuda, Director of the Organizations Directorate at the State Health Ministry. The purpose of the visit was to assess the hospital’s needs and explore areas for potential support.
According to Sudan News Agency, the delegation conducted an inspection of the various hospital departments. They received a briefing on the services provided by the hospital, including handling trauma cases from the national highway. The hospital plays a strategic role in serving the surrounding communities, and the visit highlighted the importance of developing emergency and injury services, particularly given the high incidence of traffic-related injuries.
Dr. Al-Amin emphasized the necessity of enhancing the emergency and injuries services at Al-Shawak Hospital. He expressed gratitude to the ICRC for its ongoing cooperation and support. ICRC Health Coordinator Dr. Nancy reiterated the committee’s commitment to evaluating the hospital’s needs. She also confirmed their intention to support efforts to strengthen the emergency department and improve overall services in the locality.
