Cairo: President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, and Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi held a joint meeting at Al-Ittihadiya Palace to discuss the prospects for joint cooperation between Sudan and Egypt across various fields. The discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral relations to benefit both nations and their peoples.
According to Sudan News Agency, the talks reviewed developments in Sudan and efforts to achieve peace, security, and stability, as well as reconstruction efforts following the war. Both leaders affirmed the significance of strategic cooperation and expressed their commitment to advancing mutual interests.
TSC President Al-Burhan acknowledged the strategic and historically solid relations between Sudan and Egypt. He emphasized his commitment to further developing these ties to benefit both nations. Al-Burhan praised Egypt’s supportive role in regional and international forums, highlighting its commitment to Sudan’s stability and sovereignty.
Egyptian President Al-Sisi reiterated Egypt’s steadfast support for Sudanese state institutions and its dedication to Sudan’s security and unity. He emphasized Egypt’s pride in its strong strategic relations with Sudan, expressing eagerness to enhance bilateral cooperation to fulfill shared aspirations.
The discussions focused on enhancing collaboration in various sectors, including electrical interconnection, railways, trade, cultural and scientific exchanges, health, agriculture, industry, and mining. Both sides agreed to maximize their countries’ potential and resources through joint projects.
The recent developments in Sudan, including the progress made by the Sudanese Armed Forces in regaining control of Khartoum, were addressed. The leaders agreed on the importance of providing support to Sudanese residing in conflict zones.
Regional issues, particularly in the Nile Basin and the Horn of Africa, were also discussed. Both countries committed to continued coordination to preserve water security.
The meeting was attended by high-ranking officials, including Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin Al-Fadil, and other key figures from the intelligence and military sectors.
