Khartoum: Minister of Culture and Information and government spokesman Khalid Al-Aiser has commended the statement by African Union (AU) Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssef, who appreciated the important step taken by President of the Sudanese Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, in appointing an independent civilian prime minister composed of technocrats.
According to Sudan News Agency, Al-Aiser expressed Sudan’s great appreciation for this initiative by its brothers in the African continent in a tweet on the X platform. He hoped that the African Union would take urgent procedural steps to help restore Sudan to its leading and historic position by lifting the suspension of its AU membership, thus enhancing efforts to support peace, security, and stability in Sudan, the African continent, and the world as a whole.
