Khartoum: The Wali (Governor) of Khartoum State, Ahmed Osman Hamza, met with the Wali of North Kordofan State, Abdel-Khaliq Abdel-Latif, to discuss coordination in agriculture and industry, as well as leveraging the comparative advantages of each state and strengthening security along their shared borders to prevent smuggling and combat illicit trade.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Khartoum State Wali congratulated his counterpart on recent victories achieved on the Kordofan front, commending the sacrifices made by the Armed Forces and supporting forces. Both sides expressed aligned views on several issues requiring unified cooperation mechanisms, particularly regarding comparative advantages.
The Wali of Khartoum State welcomed citizens of Kordofan affected by the war, affirming that all state institutions have worked to provide shelter, food assistance, and healthcare services, and to enable students to continue their education, as well as integrating teachers into schools in the state. For his part, the Wali of North Kordofan State praised Khartoum State's efforts in alleviating the suffering of those affected by the war. Abdel-Latif noted that the state has begun preparations for the post-war phase to become an industrial state, benefiting from its unique economic and social characteristics.
