Khartoum: Vice-President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Malik Agar, met on Sunday with a Swiss delegation. The meeting included the presence of Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa, Ambassador Sylvain Asti©; Charg© d'Affaires for Sudan, Dr. Andreas Baum; representatives from Swiss embassies in Kenya and Egypt; Deputy Head of Mission at the Swiss Embassy in Egypt, Ambassador Thomas Baumgartner; and Deputy Head of the Cooperation Division for Sudan, Ms. Catherine.
According to Sudan News Agency, Agar welcomed the delegation's visit, highlighting it as a farewell to Ambassador Asti© upon the conclusion of his assignment concerning Sudan and the Horn of Africa. During the meeting, Agar provided a comprehensive briefing on the internal developments in Sudan related to humanitarian and political matters.
Agar affirmed that the incoming envoy would receive full support and cooperation from the Sudanese government, particularly given Switzerland's clear stance on the Sudanese issue. He emphasized Sudan's commitment to pursuing peace and maintaining openness to dialogue, provided it does not compromise the nation's unity and security.
