Khartoum: Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Jabir, conducted an inspection tour for several facilities in Khartoum State. He was accompanied by the Minister of Interior, Lt. Gen. Babiker Samra, the Undersecretary of the Federal Ministry of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, and the Wali (governor) of Khartoum State, Ahmed Osman Hamza.
According to Sudan News Agency, Lt. Gen. Jabir checked on the progress of work at the Bahri Water Station and emphasized the need for further efforts to address necessary shortcomings to ensure the station returns to operation promptly. Additionally, he announced the imminent return of Sudanese nationals to the country through Khartoum Airport, the reception of all official delegations, and the commencement of domestic flights to several states.
Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Jabir highlighted that maintenance work on the runway, as well as improvements to the halls and services related to electricity, water, and sanitation, have been completed. He noted that work teams are diligently completing the remaining requirements, despite limited resources and a war budget that prioritizes serving citizens. Efforts by the Environment Preparation Committee for the Return of Citizens to Khartoum State are concentrated on enhancing service facilities in health, water, education, and at Khartoum Airport.
Engineer Siralkhatim Babiker, the General Manager of Sudan Airports Company Limited, disclosed that the rehabilitation work on Khartoum Airport has reached approximately 85% completion of the infrastructure work, meeting international requirements.
