Khartoum: Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Dr. Nawara Abu Mohamed, has reviewed the Ministry of Finance’s performance and efforts to fulfill state obligations and maximize revenues. This review was conducted during a meeting in her office on Wednesday with Finance Minister Dr. Gebreil Ibrahim, who provided a comprehensive briefing on revenue sources and the fulfillment of obligations.
According to Sudan News Agency, the meeting discussed the outcome of Dr. Nawara’s visit to the eastern states and emphasized the importance of overcoming impediments to support service and health projects in these regions. The focus was particularly on addressing issues related to water, health, and education.
Following the meeting, Finance Minister Dr. Gebreil Ibrahim explained in a press statement that discussions covered the ministry’s performance, issues impacting people’s livelihoods, and strategies to increase revenues to meet the state’s obligations to its citizens. He highlighted the urgent issues facing the eastern states, particularly in the sectors of education, health, and water.
Dr. Gebreil also noted Her Excellency’s interest in supporting takayas (hospices) and aiding poor and needy families, those affected by war, and internally displaced persons (IDPs) across all Sudanese states. He underscored the ministry’s commitment to addressing these challenges and pledged to submit a detailed report on developments and measures taken to the Transitional Sovereignty Council.
