Oslo: The Sudanese Embassy in Oslo recently held a briefing for students of the United Nations Association, focusing on the violations committed by the rebel militia.
According to Sudan News Agency, the briefing session took place on January 15, 2026, organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Sudan in Oslo. The event was dedicated to reviewing the developments in Sudan and was attended by the United Nations Association in Norway (UNSAN) students. Ambassador Dr. Hamdi Hasab Al-Rasoul Othman, Head of Mission, delivered a briefing on the Sudanese crisis, highlighting the political and humanitarian repercussions and the government's efforts to protect civilians and facilitate humanitarian work. He emphasized Sudan's commitment to international law and called on the international community to stop external support for militias.
Minister Plenipotentiary Mai Ibrahim, the Deputy Head of Mission, provided a presentation on the violations against Sudanese women by the Rapid Support Forces militia, including the use of violence as a weapon in the conflict. A documentary film was screened, documenting these violations. Additionally, Dr. Ahmed Refaat, Professor of International Economic Relations, discussed the economic motives for foreign interventions in Sudan, particularly the UAE's support for the militia, and its impact on the region.
