Muscat: An official Sudanese delegation, led by the Minister of Health of the Northern State Satti Hassan Satti, participated in the Hospital Management Conference in Muscat.
According to Sudan News Agency, the 24th Arab Conference on Hospital Management was held in the Omani capital, Muscat, during December 10-11. It was organized by the Omani Ministry of Health and the Arab Organization for Administrative Development, in partnership with Arab and international medical institutions.
In press remarks following the meetings, Dr. Satti said the conference addressed modern approaches to hospital management and examined the role of the private and public sectors in strengthening health systems. Discussions focused on integration between the public and private sectors to achieve universal health coverage and ensure the financial sustainability of health projects.
The conference also witnessed the launch of the Mohammed Al-Salim Award for Excellence in the Health Sector, which honours researchers in public health and health management. The initiative aims to support scientific research and improve service quality and patient safety across the Arab world.
Participants included representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO) and its regional office, the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, and leading academic institutions such as Imperial College London, lending the event a broad international dimension. The program featured scientific sessions and panel discussions addressing challenges facing Arab hospitals, including human resources management, digital transformation in the health sector, and the development of management systems in line with global standards.
Satti affirmed that the Sudanese delegation's participation reflects Sudan's commitment to strengthening regional and international health cooperation and benefiting from successful experiences in hospital management, contributing to the development of the national health infrastructure and improved services for citizens.
The delegation also held talks with Ahmed Al-Mandhari, Undersecretary of the Omani Ministry of Health. Through this participation, Sudan reaffirmed its role as an active member of Arab health forums and its determination to keep pace with modern developments in hospital management, in support of sustainable health development goals and enhanced Arab integration in the sector.
