Seville: Sudan participates in the United Nations Conference on Development Financing, which will be held in Seville, Spain, during June 30 to July 3, 2025. The Sudanese delegation, headed by President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, arrived Sunday in Seville, Spain, to participate in the conference.
According to Sudan News Agency, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin Al-Fadil, stated that the conference would discuss ways to finance development, particularly rural development and agriculture in least developed countries. Regional and international financing institutions, such as the African Development Bank and the World Bank, are participating in the conference. It is expected that the heads of state participating in the conference will seek to urge donors and financing institutions to support rural development and agricultural projects to create job opportunities and increase food production in least developed countries.
Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin Al-Fadil told SUNA that the Sudanese delegation is expected to present a vision for rebuilding agricultural projects destroyed by the rebel militia and restoring the agricultural sector to its traditional role of providing food for Sudanese citizens and exporting surpluses to neighboring countries that rely heavily on Sudanese agricultural products.
