State Minister of Finance Continues Review of Public Financial Reform Legislation

Khartoum: State Minister at the Ministry of Finance, Mohamed Noor Abdel-Daem, chaired a meeting on Saturday at the National Audit Chamber to review legislation related to public financial reform, in the presence of Director General of the Chamber Al-Tayib Al-Sadiq and department representatives.

According to Sudan News Agency, the Minister stated that the Public Financial Reform Act constitutes a comprehensive framework launched by the Ministry of Finance to strengthen transparency and accountability in public finance management, in line with international governance standards. He clarified that the National Audit Chamber is entrusted with implementing the law and represents a cornerstone for its effective enforcement. The Chamber will be directly linked to the government's electronic system to monitor financial transactions and ensure proper budget execution.

The framework also includes mechanisms to assess the extent to which government spending achieves its development objectives, thereby reinforcing transparency, bolstering donor confidence, and securing increased international support.
