Khartoum: The State Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Omar Siddig, met with the Russian Federation’s Ambassador to Sudan, Andrei Chernovol, to discuss enhancing bilateral relations. The meeting, held in Ambassador Siddig’s office on Sunday, focused on advancing cooperation between Sudan and Russia, particularly in political and economic spheres.
According to Sudan News Agency, Ambassador Siddig praised the existing strong relations between the two nations and emphasized the importance of further developing these ties. He acknowledged Russia’s significant role in addressing peace and security issues in Sudan and the region. Additionally, Ambassador Siddig elaborated on the current situation in Sudan, detailing the involvement of state institutions in monitoring war effects, providing humanitarian aid to displaced persons, and addressing voluntary return and reconstruction efforts.
Ambassador Chernovol expressed Russia’s support for Sudan’s government in achieving security and stability, stressing the importance of preserving Sudan’s sovereignty and unity.
