Khartoum: The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, has stressed the depth of Sudanese-Egyptian bilateral relations and the historical bonds connecting the two peoples. This affirmation came during Al-Burhan’s meeting with Egyptian Foreign Minister, Ambassador Badr Abdel-Aty, attended by Sudanese and Egyptian diplomats, where the Egyptian Ambassador conveyed greetings from President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
According to Sudan News Agency, Chairman Al-Burhan expressed gratitude to Egypt for its support in various regional and international forums, highlighting the mutual commitment to the safety, security, stability, and sovereignty of Sudan. He emphasized the shared determination of both nations to enhance cooperation across numerous sectors.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister conveyed a message of support from President al-Sisi, reinforcing the strong ties between the two countries and reiterating Egypt’s stance on supporting Sudan’s unity and sovereignty. Discu
ssions during the meeting focused on enhancing political, economic, and trade relations, with particular emphasis on water security, a critical issue for both Nile River states.
Ambassador Badr Abdel-Aty received a briefing from Chairman Al-Burhan on the current situation and humanitarian conditions in Sudan, affirming Egypt’s support for Sudanese national institutions, including the Sudanese Armed Forces. The Egyptian Foreign Minister, marking his fourth visit to Sudan, expressed hopes for ongoing peace and stability for the Sudanese people, demonstrating the robust relations between the two nations.
Emphasizing the importance of these relations, it was noted that President al-Sisi is closely monitoring developments with Sudan to benefit both nations’ peoples in the Nile Valley.
