SAF Chief of Staff General Mohamed Othman Al-Hussein Referred to Retirement

Khartoum: The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, has issued a decree referring General Mohamed Othman Al-Hussein to retirement, effective April 2, 2026. The decree also relieves General Mohamed Othman Al-Hussein of his duties as Chief of the SAF General Staff.

According to Sudan News Agency, this decision marks a significant transition within the leadership of the Sudanese Armed Forces. General Mohamed Othman Al-Hussein has been serving as the Chief of Staff and his tenure will conclude with this retirement decree.
