QCB Unveils QAR 4 Billion Government Ijara Sukuk Offering

Doha: Qatar Central Bank (QCB) announced the issuance of Government Ijara Sukuk on behalf of the Ministry of Finance, valued at QAR 4 billion. The announcement was made on Tuesday, highlighting the significant financial move aimed at bolstering the country's fiscal landscape.

According to Qatar News Agency, QCB detailed the maturity periods of the Sukuk in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter. The issuance includes QAR 2 billion as an addition to an existing issuance, maturing on September 3, 2028, with a yield of 4.450 percent. Another QAR 2 billion, also an addition to an existing issuance, is set to mature on August 24, 2030, offering a yield of 4.475 percent.

The bank further clarified that the total bids for the Sukuk reached approximately QAR 11.4 billion, indicating strong investor interest and confidence in Qatar's economic stability. The issuance of these Sukuk is a strategic step by QCB to manage liquidity and stimulate economic growth within the region.
