Prime Minister Reviews Preparations for Mid-May Social Development Forum

Khartoum: Prime Minister Professor Kamil Idris reviewed the performance of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Welfare for the first quarter of the year. The update came during a meeting held Tuesday afternoon in Khartoum with Minister of Human Resources and Social Welfare Dr. Mu'tasim Ahmed Salih and Undersecretary Dr. Abubakr Koko Dahiya.

According to Sudan News Agency, Minister Salih stated in a press release that the meeting explored ways to enhance and expand vocational training and apprenticeship programs. Both parties agreed to organize a national conference aimed at advancing these sectors.

The discussions also focused on social protection priorities, with the government reaffirming its commitment to distribute large quantities of sorghum to internally displaced persons across the country.

The minister further noted that the meeting reviewed ongoing preparations for the Social Development Forum, scheduled for mid-May, as part of the government's broader drive to strengthen social protection mechanisms nationwide.
