Prime Minister Orders Exemption of Traders from Zakat, Taxes and Standards Fees (2023-2025)

Khartoum: Prime Minister Professor Kamil Idris has announced an important directive to exempt traders from zakat, taxes, and standards fees for the period of 2023 to 2025. This announcement came during his visit to the Market of Al-Sajana (Souq Al-Sajana), a significant commercial hub.

According to Sudan News Agency, the Prime Minister emphasized the government's dedication to eliminating barriers that traders face. He instructed the prompt completion of electricity services in the market, which includes the incorporation of solar energy solutions. Additionally, he issued a stern warning against the imposition of illegal levies on traders.

The Prime Minister also appealed to the traders to maintain reasonable profit margins, especially in dealings with returning citizens. He assured that efforts would be made to restore the market to a condition better than its previous state, reiterating the government's support for the trading community.
