Khartoum: Prime Minister, Dr. Kamil Idris, has stressed the importance of regulating mining activities in accordance with new visions and controls, which protect the sector from corruption and ensure maximum benefit to citizens through growth and prosperity. He noted that the Government of Hope attaches great importance to this sector due to its impact on the national economy.
According to Sudan News Agency, Prime Minister Idris listened, in his office in Port Sudan on Sunday, to a briefing from the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Minerals, Dr. Hind Al-Siddig, on the challenges and future visions for the mining sector. Dr. Hind said in press statements, “We have received full support from the Prime Minister to advance the sector to achieve maximum benefit and support the national economy.” She noted that the meeting discussed ways to preserve the environment, prevent waste of resources, and maximize sector revenues for the benefit of the country.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Minerals pointed out
that the Prime Minister’s remarks focused on the importance of promoting sustainable mining practices in line with international standards, in terms of regulation, oversight, and optimal use of revenues, expressing the Ministry’s readiness to fully cooperate with the Prime Minister to advance the sector.
