Omdurman: Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris stated that the media serves as the civilized front that conveys the enduring victories of the Sudanese people to the global audience. He made these remarks during an inspection visit to the Sudanese General Authority for Radio and Television (SGART) in Omdurman. During the visit, he was accompanied by Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism, Khalid Al-Eisir, and Television Director Walid Mustafa.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Prime Minister reviewed the ongoing reconstruction efforts in the wake of destruction caused by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia. He reaffirmed the Government of Hope's commitment to restoring media institutions to a state better than before. Dr. Idris also commended Sudanese media professionals and highlighted the significant role played by Sudanese women in the Battle of Dignity. Furthermore, he declared 2026 as the year of peace, dubbing it 'the peace of the victors.'
The Prime Minister outlined the government's peace initiative, which was presented to the Security Council. The initiative focuses on the withdrawal and cantonment of militias, the launch of a comprehensive Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue, and the organization of free and fair elections.
