Khartoum: Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris on Thursday evening performed the Isha and Tarawih prayers at the Sayyida Sanhouri Mosque in Khartoum. Addressing the congregation, the Prime Minister commended the voluntary and optional return of citizens to Khartoum, describing it as a positive indicator of restored stability. He paid tribute to the martyrs of the Battle of Dignity, stating that their sacrifice remains a source of honor, blessing, and renewed strength for Sudan and its people.
According to Sudan News Agency, Dr. Idris also saluted the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and supporting forces for their heroic role in defeating the rebel militias. In this context, he noted that global leaders and strategic thinkers had expressed admiration for the military strategies employed by the Armed Forces during the Battle of Dignity. He affirmed that these strategies and the Armed Forces’ enduring victories would be recorded in gold in the annals of global military history.
The Prime Minister further paid tribute to
the President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, commending the sacrifices made in service of the Sudanese nation.
Dr. Kamil Idris stated that the large turnout of worshippers at Sayyida Sanhouri Mosque constitutes clear evidence of the return of normal life and sends a message to Sudanese nationals abroad to return voluntarily and directly to their homeland.
He renewed his call to Sudanese citizens residing overseas to return voluntarily to their regions, villages, mosques, and places of worship, affirming that ‘the country is safe and stable.’
The Prime Minister further declared that 2026 would be a year of peace in Sudan. He concluded by offering prayers for the continued support and victory of the Armed Forces and allied forces, asking Almighty Allah to grant Sudan and its people lasting security, safety, and stability.
