Port sudan: The city of Port Sudan in Red Sea State witnessed a massive public demonstration on Saturday, as organized by the League of Peoples Organization in front of the Saudi embassy, as part of the “Day of Loyalty” event to express people’s gratitude for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its government and people, for their commendable and supportive stances towards Sudan, under the slogan: “Thank you, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.”
According to Sudan News Agency, a large number of civil society organizations, native administrations, social, cultural, and sports associations participated in the event, alongside representatives of Sudanese universities, women’s, youth, and student groups, in a sincere expression of the deep fraternal relations that bind the Sudanese and Saudi peoples.
During the event, the League of Peoples Organization extended a popular invitation to Saudi Crown Prince His Royal Highness Mohammed bin Salman to visit Sudan, affirming the bonds of friendship and shared history between the two countries.
The Saudi Ambassador to Sudan, Ali Hassan bin Jaafar, addressed the gathering, expressing his gratitude to the Sudanese people, the Chairman of the Sovereign Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and the Prime Minister, Dr. Kamil Idris.
The Ambassador emphasized that this popular gathering on “Loyalty Day” embodies the genuine love and fraternal bond between the two nations and supports diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving peace and stability in Sudan.
He noted the Kingdom’s categorical rejection of any attempts to divide Sudan and its readiness to provide all possible support, including launching the “Contribute Platform” campaign to support El Fasher and establishing a high-level council to enhance cooperation between the two countries.
For his part, Lieutenant General Omar Nimir, head of the League of Peoples Organization, affirmed in his address the Sudanese people’s support for their leadership and army.
He expressed Sudan’s deep appreciation for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s supportive stances, particularly through the Jeddah Peace Forum and its role in thwarting conspiracies targeting Sudan’s unity and stability, as well as its ongoing logistical support in various fields.
A representative of civil society organizations, Dr Naji Mansour Al-Shafi’i, highlighted the scale of humanitarian aid provided by the Kingdom to Sudan during times of both peace and war, emphasized that the Sudanese people deeply appreciate the Kingdom’s stance, which has consistently demonstrated its commitment in words and deeds.
For their part, representatives from the women’s sector expressed their profound gratitude and appreciation for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s sincere efforts in supporting Sudan and its unwavering commitment to its unity, peace, and stability.
The event concluded with a tribute to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in recognition of its generous contributions and noble stances towards Sudan.
