Khartoum: More than 400 male and female students have commenced their intermediate certificate exams in Khartoum Locality under stringent arrangements and oversight by relevant authorities. The first session of the postponed exams for the year 2024 began today at multiple centers, ensuring a well-organized examination process.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Executive Director of Khartoum Locality, Abdel-Moneim Al-Bashir, revealed that a total of 407 students are sitting for the exams across nine centers, including Zat Al-Nitagayn School in Al-Sahafa East and Al-Nour Khidr School in Al-Sajana. Al-Bashir assured that the exams are occurring in a secure and stable environment, following previous threats faced by students from the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, which had jeopardized their safety when considering leaving the locality for exams in other states.
Al-Bashir also highlighted the significant financial challenges that some families endured to enroll their children in schools outside Khartoum or even abroad. He acknowledged the contributions of the Wali of Khartoum State and the Ministry of Education in their determination to restore normalcy and resume educational activities in the state, which had been disrupted for two years due to the militia’s presence in some areas.
Additionally, Al-Bashir expressed his appreciation to the teachers and community members who played a crucial role in setting up the examination centers and ensuring a conducive environment for the exams to proceed smoothly.
