Khartoum: Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, conducted a briefing meeting at his office at the Federal Ministry of Health to deliberate on the strategic selection of the main recipient for the Global Support Grant as part of the eighth funding cycle for 2027-2029. The meeting was attended by several directors of general administrations, the coordinator of the national coordination mechanism for global support projects, and resident representatives of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations International Children Emergency Fund (UNICEF).
According to Sudan News Agency, the national coordination mechanism coordinator, Dr. Akfa Al-Rifai, presented the strategic rationale for moving to a single main recipient model, detailing the mechanisms for selecting the beneficiary entity. Participants engaged in discussions on maximizing the grant's impact and enhancing institutional coordination to ensure optimal benefits for the health sector.
During the meeting, the committee responsible for selecting the main recipient was announced, and its members were introduced. The discussions concluded with recommendations aimed at improving joint work mechanisms and enhancing coordination to ensure the sustainability of support and the achievement of national health priorities.
