British Lawyers Set to Launch Legal Actions in Sudan Against UAE and RSF Leaders

Khartoum: A delegation of British lawyers is poised to arrive in Sudan to initiate legal actions in British courts against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and leaders of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia. The Sudanese Bar Association made this announcement, indicating that these lawsuits will seek justice for crimes and violations committed by the militia and their associates both within and beyond Sudan's borders. According to Sudan News Agency, the lawsuits aim to secure compensation for the Sudanese people, focusing on reparations for killings, looting, and other categories of crimes linked to the RSF. The President of the Sudanese Bar Association, Zain Al-Abidin Mohamed Hamad, during an iftar gathering with young lawyers in Port Sudan, underscored the association's support for the Sudanese Armed Forces in what he termed the 'Battle of Dignity.' He emphasized the significance of the Armed Forces' sacrifices, expressing hope for a decisive victory and the restoration of national stability and security. Zain Al-Abidin also commended the role of young lawyers, recognizing them as future leaders of the Syndicate. In alignment with this, Bar Secretary-General Imad-Eddin Al-Fadni unveiled strategic programs to empower young lawyers, reiterating the Syndicate's unwavering support for the Armed Forces since the conflict's onset. He noted the active participation of over 400 lawyers on the frontlines, highlighting the sacrifice of 35 lawyers who have been martyred in the 'War of Dignity.' In related developments, young lawyers' representative Mohamed Ghazi announced a youth initiative aimed at reconstructing the Lawyers' House in Khartoum and called for widespread participation in rebuilding efforts across Khartoum, Port Sudan, and other state branches. Additionally, Ghazi revealed plans to provide 10 scholarships for young lawyers to pursue advanced degrees, complemented by training courses and workshops in human rights and computer skills, under the leadership of Dr. Omar Al-Sayid.
