Kassala: The Ministry of Health and UNICEF have concluded a joint meeting in Kassala to review the performance of activities and programs supported by the organization in 2025, with an aim to develop a plan for 2026 and align it with the Ministry's strategic plan for 2026-2030.
According to Sudan News Agency, Dr. Musab Siddiq, Director of the General Department of Primary Health Care, acknowledged the efforts of all participants, commending the success of the meeting and the constructive discussions that took place. He highlighted the importance of focusing on integration in implementing basic health care programs amidst limited resources. Siddiq emphasized the necessity to support state capacity-building activities to improve the quality and sustainability of health services, stressing the importance of fair and comprehensive access to basic health care services for all citizens of Sudan.
Dr. Alaa Mudather, Director of the General Department of International Health, described the meeting as fruitful, noting that it helped in reviewing progress, identifying gaps, and setting a joint path for 2026. She highlighted the Ministry's commitment to translating the recommendations into concrete actions, with close monitoring to ensure they positively impact citizens' health. Mudather emphasized the need for continued cooperation and coordination to achieve unified goals, such as one plan, one budget, and one report, to eliminate duplication.
UNICEF representative Tidbabi congratulated the Ministry of Health and the organization on the success of the joint meeting, praising the level of discussion and coordination. She reiterated UNICEF's commitment to working with the Ministry to ensure service provision to children, women, and those in need, especially given Sudan's current conditions, which demand collective efforts.
