Khartoum: The Ministry of Energy has announced its support for all projects aimed at preparing the environment for the return of citizens to Khartoum State. This initiative was highlighted during an expanded meeting held at Al-Sahafa Youth Center involving Dr. Fadl Mahmoud, Director of Human Resources and representative of the Undersecretary of the Ministry, along with residents and community leaders from the Al-Sahafa district.
According to Sudan News Agency, Dr. Mahmoud emphasized the importance of restoring normal life in Khartoum as part of the state’s program to encourage citizens to return to the capital. He highlighted the necessity of supporting youth sectors and providing all necessary resources to enhance their pivotal role in rebuilding Sudan. Dr. Mahmoud also announced that the ministry will contribute to rehabilitating sports and cultural facilities in Al-Sahafa, as part of efforts to reconstruct Khartoum following the destruction caused to youth and sports institutions by the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militias.
The Executive Director of Khartoum Locality praised the Ministry of Energy’s initiative in supporting reconstruction projects, acknowledging the national responsibility it undertakes. He expressed gratitude to Dr. Mahmoud for leading a petroleum convoy from Port Sudan to Khartoum, which provided significant assistance to community kitchens in the locality.
Dr. Murtada Abu Bakr, Director of Youth and Sports in Khartoum Locality, commended the ministry’s initiative in supporting youth and sports projects. He described young people as the genuine future of Sudan’s reconstruction after the war. Dr. Abu Bakr confirmed that the locality is working to rehabilitate all youth and sports facilities in cooperation with community sectors and public partners.
