Ministry of Agriculture Partners with DAL and ARC for Cotton Seed Production

Khartoum: The Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, through its Director-General of Seeds and Agricultural Research, Dr. Muna Othman, has entered into a strategic partnership with DAL Company and the Agricultural Research Corporation (ARC) to produce and indigenize cotton seeds. This collaboration is a significant step towards securing Sudan's supply of high-quality cotton seeds, reducing reliance on imports, and enhancing the competitiveness of Sudanese cotton in international markets.

According to Sudan News Agency, the Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, Prof. Ismat Gurashi, referred to the partnership as a model of integration between the public sector, private sector, and scientific research. This initiative is expected to boost productivity, improve quality, and positively impact farmers' incomes and the national economy.

DAL Company representative Engineer Ahmed Abdullah expressed the company's dedication to supporting agricultural development. Additionally, Professor Ahmed Hassan Abu Assar of the ARC highlighted the importance of using pure foundation seeds for sustainable production and increased resistance to pests and diseases. He confirmed ARC's commitment to providing technical and scientific support for the project.
