Khartoum: Minister of Justice Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Dirif met with Mohamed Adam Arabi, a member of the steering committee of the Red Crescent Society, who was delegated by the committee's chairman, Dr. Abdulrahman Bilal. The focus of their discussion was the legal status of the society in light of the repeal of the 2010 Red Crescent Society Act.
According to Sudan News Agency, the meeting underscored the necessity of enacting new legislation to regulate the activities of the Red Crescent Society. This move aims to regularize its status, enabling it to effectively carry out its humanitarian work both domestically and internationally.
Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Dirif acknowledged the significant humanitarian efforts made by the Red Crescent Society during the Battle of Dignity. He also committed to reviewing the draft law that had been previously submitted by the former steering committee.
