Khartoum: Minister of Interior, Lt. Gen. Police Babiker Samra Mustafa, on Friday inaugurated the Kifaya Factory for Police Apparel, marking a significant step in restoring police service facilities. The event was attended by Gen. Police Amir Abdelmoniem Fadl, Director General of the Police Forces, along with members of the Police Administration Board.
According to Sudan News Agency, the factory was reopened after being destroyed by the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, which had targeted police service facilities. Currently, in its first phase, the factory is producing 1,500 police uniforms per day, with plans to increase production to 3,000 uniforms daily.
The Minister outlined plans to expand the factory’s workflow in stages to include the production of uniform accessories and insignia. The final phase of the project will focus on manufacturing footwear specifically for police personnel, including officers, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers.
He also commended the extensive efforts that facilitated the restoration and full operational capacity of the factory, emphasizing its importance in supporting the police forces.
