Khartoum: Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Ahmed Mudawi Musa, commended the deep-rooted and brotherly relations between Sudan and Libya, praising Libya’s genuine stances and continued support to Sudanese students and faculty members through scholarships, academic facilitation, and the admission of Sudanese students to Libyan higher education institutions.
According to Sudan News Agency, Professor Mudawi affirmed that these noble gestures are highly appreciated by all Sudanese, reiterating Sudan’s commitment to all previous agreements signed between the two countries. He expressed his ministry’s keenness to expand the horizons of academic and scientific cooperation in a way that serves the interests of students and educational institutions in both nations.
The meeting, held today at his office in Port Sudan, brought together the minister and Dr. Fawzi Abdel-Rahim Boumraiz, Ambassador of the State of Libya to Sudan. The minister conveyed his gratitude to the Government and peopl
e of Libya for their continuous support to the educational sector in Sudan. Discussions focused on ways to enhance academic and scientific cooperation between the two countries and the possibility of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the fields of higher education, scientific research, and exchange of expertise.
Ambassador Boumraiz expressed appreciation for the warm reception, lauding the progress and resilience of Sudan’s higher education sector despite current challenges caused by the war. He reaffirmed his country’s commitment to continuing fruitful cooperation in higher education and scientific research to promote development and build human capacities in both countries.
The two sides also discussed several joint initiatives, including strengthening student exchange programs, expanding scholarship opportunities, and activating partnerships between Sudanese and Libyan universities and research centers. At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides underscored the importance of maintaining co
ordination and strengthening communication between the concerned institutions to further academic and scientific cooperation and reinforce the bonds of brotherhood between the two nations.
