Khartoum: Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of South Sudan, Ambassador Mandi Samaya Kent Komiya, concluded a three-day official visit to the Republic of Sudan, during which a joint statement was issued. The statement was read by Sudan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Mohy-Eddin Salim Ahmed, alongside his South Sudanese counterpart.
According to Sudan News Agency, during the visit, Minister Komiya delivered a written message from President Salva Kiir Mayardit to General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan Abdel-Rahman, President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC). The message underscored South Sudan’s solidarity with Sudan and a commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors.
Minister Komiya engaged in discussions with TSC Vice-President General Malik Agar, Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris, and key ministers including those responsible for Interior, Energy and Oil, as well as the Director General of the General
Intelligence Service. The discussions aimed at fostering cooperation in oil, economy, infrastructure, education, health, and security, with a focus on protecting and aiding citizens of both nations.
The visit resulted in agreements to activate joint committees and form a Joint Economic Committee to bolster trade, investment, energy, oil, agriculture, transport, and infrastructure collaboration. Both nations are set to encourage public-private partnerships and facilitate trade and investment, including the establishment of a free zone at Port Sudan for South Sudan to advance its oil sector and transit goods.
Further agreements involved enhancing political consultations, coordinating positions in regional and international forums, and continuing cooperation in combating terrorism and ensuring border security. Minister Komiya also extended an official invitation to the Sudanese Prime Minister to visit Juba.

le for their hospitality, while acknowledging Sudan’s important role in supporting peace and development initiatives in South Sudan and the surrounding region.
