Khartoum: The Federal Minister of Education and National Pedagogy, Dr. Al-Tohami Al-Zain Hajar, chaired a significant meeting of the Education Sector Committee of the Supreme Committee for Environment Preparation and Reconstruction in Khartoum State. This meeting was also attended by Khartoum State Wali Ahmed Othman Hamza.
According to Sudan News Agency, the meeting focused on the latest directives issued by the Prime Minister concerning the maintenance of schools in Khartoum State. These directives aim to support voluntary return and involve instructions to various ministries for the rehabilitation and improvement of the school environment across 150 schools in the state's seven localities.
The meeting also addressed the need to set priorities according to the maintenance requirements. Efforts made by Khartoum State in preparing the school environment were reviewed, along with the capacities of companies contracted for providing school furniture.
Additionally, the provision of school textbooks was discussed, with several companies being contracted to meet the educational needs across all levels. The Minister confirmed that the Supreme Committee for Environment Preparation and Reconstruction is concentrating on three main pillars: school rehabilitation, the provision of textbooks, and furniture, to ensure stability in the education sector.
