Port sudan: Minister of Culture, Information, and Tourism, Khalid Al-Eisir, has emphasized the important role of culture and arts in strengthening social cohesion, noting that Sudan possesses a rich cultural diversity and a unified national spirit.
According to Sudan News Agency, this statement was made during his participation in the national event titled “An Evening in Love of the Homeland” under the slogan “Arts Unite Us,” which was held in support of the heroes of the Sudanese Armed Forces and those affected by the war. The event took place at the Red Sea State Union of Writers and Artists theatre and was attended by Ministry Undersecretary Dr. Graham Abdel-Gadir, along with numerous creative figures, officials, and community representatives.
The Minister expressed his appreciation to the Red Sea State Union of Writers and Artists, the representative of the State Wali, the Ministry staff, and the technical and theatrical teams, as well as everyone who contributed to organizing this national evening in support of the Sudanese Army and those affected by the war. He noted that the local communities’ reception of their fellow citizens from different regions reflects “the depth of interconnection among the components of the Sudanese people.”
He indicated that the Ministry will continue to work with all partners in the culture, literature, and arts sectors, believing that culture and arts are fundamental drivers of the Sudanese national spirit and enhance the unity of the Sudanese people.
The Minister expressed his appreciation for the efforts exerted by the Port Sudan Union of Writers and Artists in supporting cultural work, affirming that the cultural environment in eastern Sudan represents a model of coexistence and national communication.
