Khartoum: Minister of Animal Resources and Fisheries, Professor Ahmed Al-Tijani Abdulrahim Al-Mansouri, emphasized the critical role of the Sudanese countryside in the national economy. He highlighted that enhancing rural development is a national necessity, underscoring the government’s commitment to achieving social justice and ensuring food security.
According to Sudan News Agency, these remarks were made during a workshop organized by the Ministry of Federal Governance and Rural Development in River Nile State under the slogan ‘Towards Sustainable Rural Development.’ The event aimed to address the pressing need for sustainable growth in rural areas.
Minister of Youth and Sports Ahmed Adam also contributed to the discussion, pointing out that the migration of youth from rural areas to cities and subsequently abroad is due to the lack of development in the countryside. He stressed that young people, especially rural women, are essential drivers of meaningful development, and their involvement is crucial to revitalizing these communities.
