Al-gadarif: Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, Prof. Ismat Gurashi, announced his ministry’s commitment to training the cadres of Al-Gadarif State and supporting digital transformation in agricultural work, especially as the state is progressing with rapid strides in this field. He revealed the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation’s desire to enter into partnerships with Al-Gadarif government to promote animal tracks, forests, and water harvesting and dams programs, during his visit today to the headquarters of the Mechanized Agriculture Corporation in Al-Gadarif, accompanied by the state’s Acting Wali (governor), General Mohamed Ahmed Hassan, and in the presence of a number of officials.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Wali of Al-Gadarif State called on the Mechanized Agriculture Corporation to continue providing services to farmers, accurately list the agricultural holdings, and collect revenues, ensuring they are levied on producers. He reiterated the government’s keenness to advance the agricultural sector and address its issues.
The Director-General of the Ministry of Production and Economic Resources, Engineer Ammar Abdullah Suleiman, pointed to the role of the Mechanized Agriculture Corporation in preserving agricultural resources through the use of technology, referring in this regard to the acquisition of four early warning units to address challenges, reduce risks, and counter climate changes and their impact on the agricultural process.
The Director of the Mechanized Agriculture Corporation, Engineer Abu Al-Gasim Abdullah, extended briefing on the corporation’s tasks and functions and its efforts in regulating agricultural land, calling on farmers to renew their holdings. Meanwhile, the Federal Minister and the Wali of Al-Gadarif visited the headquarters of the Sudanese-Arab Company for Seed Production in Al-Gadarif, where they inspected field models for the production of seeds for a number of agricultural crops and vegetables. The Minister and the Wali also paid a visit to the Al-Gadarif Grain Silos.
