Khartoum: Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Seif Al-Nasr Haroun has acknowledged Al-Nilein University's significant role in scientific and technical development, especially following the recent challenges posed by the Rapid Support Forces militia rebellion. He commended the university for its swift rehabilitation efforts and assured the ministry's full cooperation to support the university's mission.
According to Sudan News Agency, the minister's remarks were made during a meeting at Al-Nilein University with Khalid Hamid, Dean of the Faculty of Economic and Social Studies and representative of the University Vice-Chancellor. Hamid welcomed the visit as a positive sign of institutional recovery in Khartoum, highlighting the university's resilience during the conflict through electronic academic support that maintained student-faculty communication.
Minister Haroun also participated in the graduation ceremony for the 'Effective Administrative Leadership in Emergency Conditions' course. This course was organized by the African Centre for Governance, Peace and Transformation Studies in collaboration with the National Authority for Roads and Bridges and hosted by Al-Nilein University.
Furthermore, the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Human Development and Labour, Dhu-El-Fiqar Ali Mohamed, praised the ongoing capacity-building efforts. African Centre Director-General Mahmoud Zain Al-Abideen Mahmoud reiterated the Centre's commitment to its training mandate, while Chief Engineer Yousif Fazzari from the National Authority confirmed plans to offer additional training courses across various sectors in the near future.
