Khartoum: The Khartoum Locality Security Affairs Coordination Committee has mandated intensified security measures in vulnerable and suspicious areas. This decision follows recent operations that successfully recovered looted property and led to the arrests of collaborators and repeat offenders, with legal cases subsequently filed at police stations.
According to Sudan News Agency, the committee has confirmed the implementation of round-the-clock mobile patrols throughout the locality. These patrols are coordinated among all regular forces to disrupt potential crime hubs. Additionally, a joint sweep has been mandated to curb illegal logging activities in the Sunt (Acacia) Forest, in collaboration with the State Ministry of Agriculture and the National Forestry Corporation.
The committee has instructed all regular forces and citizens to carry identification at all times, emphasizing the strict enforcement of Decision No. (153) of the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council regarding the withdrawal of supporting forces from Khartoum.
Moreover, the committee reiterated the complete ban on scrap-metal trading as per Decision No. (1) of 2026, issued by the Federal Higher Committee for Scrap Iron Management, in line with the state of emergency order No. (8) of 2024.
In its review of the security situation, the committee reported that there have been no serious incidents within the locality's jurisdiction, apart from routine police reports. It has urged citizens to promptly report any assaults on persons or property.
