Khartoum: The Director-General of the Khartoum State Ministry of Health, Dr. Fath Al-Rahman Mohamed Al-Amin, accompanied by the Ministry’s Technical Advisor, Dr. Abdul Hakim Hassan Nugud, conducted an inspection visit to Al-Haj Al-Safi Hospital to assess the progress of the oncology center project, which has reached advanced stages of construction.
According to Sudan News Agency, during the visit, the delegation received a comprehensive briefing from the Hospital Director-General, Professor Idris Abdullah. He explained that the new center will feature specialized consultation clinics and an advanced chemotherapy unit. He noted that Al-Haj Al-Safi Hospital will, for the first time, provide fully integrated services for the diagnosis, surgical treatment, and management of tumors, allowing patients to receive complete care within the same facility without the need for referral to other centers.
Dr. Fath Al-Rahman Mohamed Al-Amin affirmed that establishing the oncology center at Al-Haj Al-Safi Hospital represents a significant addition to the curative healthcare system in Khartoum State and marks an important step toward indigenizing cancer treatment within government hospitals. He reiterated the ministry’s commitment to providing the technical and administrative support necessary to ensure the project’s completion in accordance with required standards, enabling patients to access comprehensive and integrated diagnostic, treatment, and surgical services.
He further emphasized that the project is part of a broader plan to expand specialized services across the state, meet increasing patient needs, enhance the efficiency of government hospitals, and strengthen their capacity to deliver high-quality care.
