Khartoum: Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris has called on the native leaderships in Eastern Sudan to contribute to the national recovery program and promote tolerance. He noted that the Government of Hope is counting on the success of the national recovery project to achieve stability and sustainable development.
According to Sudan News Agency, during a meeting at his office in Port Sudan on Sunday with Nazir (Chieftain) Mohamed El-Amin Terik, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Beja Nazirs (Chieftdoms) and Independent Mayorships, the Prime Minister praised the efforts of native leaderships in combating hate speech and strengthening national unity through their roles within communities. The meeting discussed the overall situation in Eastern Sudan and ways to overcome the challenges facing citizens in the region.
In press statements, Nazir Terik affirmed the support of the people of Eastern Sudan for the programs and projects of the Government of Hope, led by Dr. Kamil Idris. He noted that the meeting touched on the challenges facing the country, particularly development, in light of the Battle of Dignity against the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia. He explained that the Prime Minister was open to addressing all issues of concern to the country.
Terik said, “We expressed our satisfaction with the new government formation, which takes into account diversity and includes all regions. We assured him that we fully support him and the civilian government under his leadership.”
