Khartoum: Minister of Justice Dr. Abdullah Dirif affirmed that intellectual property (IP) is a fundamental pillar for innovation and sustainable development. Marking World Intellectual Property Day, observed annually on April 26, he highlighted the importance of protecting creativity and fostering investment in innovative ideas. This year's theme, 'IP and Sports: Ready, Set, Innovate,' reflects the growing role of IP in supporting the sports sector.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Minister underscored ongoing efforts to strengthen legislative frameworks and enforcement mechanisms, ensuring a conducive legal environment for innovation and investment. Registrar General of Intellectual Property Nadia Abubakar reiterated the role of IP in driving economic growth and encouraged innovators to utilize IP systems to protect and commercialize their work.
