Sudan: The Minister of Justice, Abdullah Dirif, who heads the Higher Committee for the Collection, Inventory, and Management of Scrap Metal, clarified that the committee has not classified the collected vehicles as waste. He stated that, under legal definitions, the designation of 'scrap' does not apply in this case, stressing that the committee will instead compile and publish detailed data on the vehicles via a designated platform and through media outlets. This will enable owners to identify and reclaim their vehicles.
According to Sudan News Agency, the Minister affirmed that all procedures will be conducted in accordance with the law, underscoring that the state's role is to assist citizens in locating their vehicles and verifying their current condition.
He added that the committee has already begun the data collection process and will publish the information once the inventory is complete.
