Khartoum: Prime Minister Professor Kamil Idris inaugurated the Comprehensive Geological Survey Project at the General Authority for Geological Research in Khartoum, attended by prominent officials such as the Minister of Finance Dr. Gebreil Ibrahim, Minister of Minerals Nour Al-Dayem Taha, and Wali of Khartoum State Ahmed Othman Hamza.According to Sudan News Agency, the Prime Minister emphasized that Sudan is endowed with rich civilizations and an abundance of natural resources, including some of the world's most valuable and rare minerals. He stated that the country is on the brink of a promising era of significant investments in critical sectors.The Prime Minister called for national unity and a commitment to sustainable development to propel Sudan towards becoming a developed economy. He also encouraged international investors to explore opportunities in the mining sector.Additionally, the Prime Minister urged international financial institutions to expand the concept of monetary supply to encompass underground resources, suggesting that this strategy could elevate Sudan to one of the wealthiest nations globally.Minister of Minerals Nour Al-Dayem Taha highlighted the project as a fundamental component for modernizing the mining sector with contemporary scientific methodologies. Director General of the Authority, Geologist Ahmed Haroun Al-Toum, mentioned that the initial phase of the project will target six states, starting with River Nile State.
