Khartoum: General Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal, Director General of the General Intelligence Service, reviewed the security situation in the Blue Nile Region and assessed overall social and economic conditions, as well as the general course of public life in the region.
According to Sudan News Agency, upon his arrival, Mufaddal held an expanded meeting with the regional security committee, attended by Ahmed Al-Omda Badi, Governor of the Blue Nile Region, the command of the Fourth Infantry Division, and representatives of the police, intelligence services, public prosecution, and legal administration.
The meeting heard detailed briefings on the security and military situation, current challenges, and ongoing arrangements to strengthen security and stability. Mufaddal also reviewed the region’s readiness to implement its executive and development programmes aimed at improving living conditions, revitalizing economic activity, and creating an investment-friendly environment. Discussions further covered efforts to facilitate the return of Sudanese refugees from South Sudan and the overall security threats along the eastern borders.
The visit forms part of Mufaddal’s wider field tours to several states, including Khartoum, North Kordofan, White Nile, Sennar, and Al-Gezira. He was received on arrival by the regional governor and members of the regional government. Governor Badi welcomed the visit, describing it as timely and well-coordinated, and affirmed its importance in supporting security and stability across the Blue Nile Region.
